I decided to start making the anchor bolts for the skeg today. I did a full scale layout on paper of the skeg and the anchor bolt locations to give me some guidance. I am glad I did this because there was some discrepancy from the drawing given as compared to what I really needed to fabricate. You will see in the pictures below that the most forward anchor bolt is a little bit shorter than the rest. That is not much of a problem because I am fabricating everything myself and can make adjustments on the fly. I also cut out a stainless steel backing pad for this and I will also use that as a template to drill the holes through the bottom of the boat.
