This evening I started the reinforcing of the plywood seams with fiberglass tape and peel ply.
This is my first attempt using peel ply so time will tell if I have the application correct. My plan is to remove it in the morning to see what the results are. The idea of applying peel ply over top of the fiberglass is that when the ply is removed, it leaves a surface on top of the fiberglass that is basically ready for finishing. So no sanding is required ! That will be great news if this product works for me. I am not a fan of having to sand cured epoxy.
My hope is that it works well on the tape because I intend on using it for the fiberglass cloth that will be applied to the whole deck and cockpit. I'm not sure how the peel ply will respond to being manipulated around radiuses and corners though .....
I think I better do a sample to test that first before I use it on the deck and realize I need to prep it in a different way.
Here is what it looks like ....
Tomorrow is another day !
